Across the 1 listing here that publish a fee, the range is Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,000 per month, with a midpoint around Rs. 2,000. Individual and home-visit teaching sits at the upper end; mass classes at the lower end.

How do I check a tutor is genuine?

Ask to see original degree or teaching certificates, not photocopies. Ask which school or institute they teach at and confirm it. Ask for two current parents' numbers and actually call them. Attend the first class at the institute or somewhere public. Pay month to month rather than for a full term up front. If a teacher will not agree to a paid trial class, treat that as a warning.

Advice.lk lists tuition teachers and centres as a free directory. We are not an agency and we take no fee or commission from any lesson you arrange. We verify contact details but we do not employ, supervise or background-check the people listed. Please meet in a safe public place first, verify qualifications and ID yourself, and never pay large sums in advance. See our guide on choosing a tutor safely.
